(TFC) from 2001 through 2004, and had been a board member for two decades. TFC operates both a men’s and woman’s professional tennis event, together generating over $18 million annually. The Western & Southern Financial Group Masters & Women’s Open benefits Children's Hospital Medical Center, Tennis for Inner-City Youth, and The Barrett Cancer Center. His professional sports marketing experience and charitable mission led Slattery to create Reach Event Marketing, LLC. REM brought the return of the AVP (Association of Volleyball Professionals) to the Greater Cincinnati area. The 2005 AVP Nissan Series, and 2006, 2007 and 2008 AVP Crocs Tour Series, were all held at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio. More than 150 of the top professional beach volleyball athletes, including Olympic gold medalists, compete in this ultimate sports and entertainment experience. Each year, NBC Sports has broadcasted the event live from Mason. The AVP tournament proceeds benefit The Barrett Cancer Center and women’s heath initiatives in Cincinnati. REM is honored to have been able to donate over $100,000 to The Barrett Cancer Center to date. For more event information, visit www.mustseeavp.com. In 2007 and 2008, REM partnered with Blue Equity, led by Louisville Developer Jonathan Blue, (www.experiencebest.com) and the City of Louisville, to organize the AVP event on the Festival Plaza at Waterfront Park in Louisville over Memorial Day weekend. REM also organized and served as the underwriter for the 2004, 2005 and 2006 i-wireless ® FOX 19 Prep Classic high school football competitions held at Paul Brown Stadium. (See promo here). REM has made a combined $300,000 donation over the past three years to be split amongst the Cincinnati charities: Anthony Munoz Foundation, Cris Collinsworth ProScan Foundation, and the Marvin Lewis Community Fund. In the spring of 2008, REM expanded their event marketing beyond the sports arena to the bridal industry with the acquisition of Wedding Mafia, a unique alternative to the typical bridal show, as it introduces bride-to-be’s to an intimate group of elite wedding vendors in the area and access to exclusive events and seminars to aid in the planning process.
